Keith Drury Art is a completely fresh approach to art allowing people to customise small or large sections of the pieces to tell their individual stories. Keith uses Northern Irish landmarks as inspiration for his work.

What makes your product unique?

Whilst I’m tempted to say the art is made ‘by magic’ or because ‘the Fairies made me do it,’ in reality it is created by a lot of painstaking hours spent making little models in intricate detail. Everything you see in the picture is a model, even the clouds are transparent models which are sculpted. In addition, clients can customise their own artwork by changing signposts or adding in buildings that are special to them to create a very bespoke artwork.

What inspires you as an artist/maker?

Local places and buildings inspire me.

How did you get started?

I can’t remember a time when I did not draw or make ‘stuff’ but my introduction into the more serious art world began when the owner of a prestigious gallery took me under his wing lending me works of international artists to take home and copy. On return the gallery owner would assess my style and then test me with something completely different. After years of trying new things and mediums, I have developed my own unique style.

Why do you think it’s important to keep local?

All of my work is created at my own studios located in a small forest in the heart of County Down. Keeping things local means you create a product that has special significance for your own community and allows people to identify with places that are featured in the art.

What motto do you live/work by?

Art is too important to be taken seriously! (Oscar Wilde)

Why dream in black and white when you can dream in colour? (my own!)
